17 Nov Recognizing Emotional Wounds
Wounds to our emotions are like open cuts to our body. The wounds can become infected (demonic oppressed) or sore (sensitive), and they can hurt each time they are touched. They can also trigger pain when you think about them or talk about them. Emotional wounds don’t heal in time; they fester and develop roots for oppression.
Heb. 12-15 “lest any root of bitterness spring up and cause trouble…”
Eph. 4:27 “Nor give place to the devil.”
1 John 3:8 “The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done].”
John 10:10 “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
The enemy’s goal is to bruise our emotions, so he can blind our minds and will in order to control and eventually destroy our lives, but Christ came to give us abundant life in freedom to love, serve, grow, mature, and become fruitful in every area of life.
If our mind is controlled, our will is broken, and our emotions are wounded and bruised, the enemy has gained control over our soul and our ability to hear and serve the Lord is affected. Emotional wounds grow deeper into our soul, and we become dysfunctional and unproductive. Instead of living out of wholeness, we live out of lack and pain.
